According to the sources of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection, the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection conducted raids in the upazila sadar market in cooperation with the local police station and various electronics, cosmetics and food hotels this afternoon based on specific complaints. At that time, the owner of a company called Ma Electronics was fined 10,000 taka for selling the charger fan at 3,800 taka instead of the maximum retail price of 3,650 taka. Apart from this, Anjali Cosmetics was fined Tk 5,000 for not having a sticker of the importing company on the foreign cosmetics, and the Border Coffee House was fined Tk 5,000 for the crime of processing food in an unsanitary environment and storing rotten food in the refrigerator based on a consumer’s complaint.
A team of police led by Manda Police Inspector (SI) Mohaiminul Abdullah was present during the operation.
